The chicken Philly is wonderful!! I found out why: they bake the bread/Buns on site every day! The bun for the Philly is soft, thick, but not overly so, and it makes this sandwich divinely delicious. Service is great, and the restaurant is always clean. We also love the catfish (grilled or fried), and don't forget the strawberry shortcake.
Was my first experience with River & Roost I am extremely impressed. Was just a wonderful accident that I found the place. The quality of the food along with the efficiency of such a small staff rarely have I saw a group of people work so harmoniously with such energy with one another that they make it a joy to visit. Was also impressed with the sheer volume of food they moving across the counter and out the drive thru window. I'm definitely going to visit this place many more times in the near future and I live about 2½ - 3 hours away from this fine establishment. Bravo 👏👏👏👌👌👌
It is always a pleasure to enjoy any meal from this southern place 😀 However, coming from someone who don't eat pork and occasionally get tired of eating chicken, turkey bacon/sausage would be a great addition to the menu 💕

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is for taste on the fries and fish. The customer service was great shocked to see so many younger adults maybe (early twenties to maybe 1 or 2 early thirties ) running a food joint so smoothly no attitudes and we had a big order and weren't sure what to order so I know it's hectic and frustrating it's frustrating for me as the mom lol but they were patient and informative smiled and were speedy those loaded fries are great and the Fried pickles delicious my whole crew enjoyed it and I was happy with the service cleanliness speed and overall taste of the food definitely a place to try ... if you have tiktok I did I short video there Juicydimples87 ...

I’ve been getting to go here for years and I don’t know why I continue to stress myself out eating here. EVERY time I place an order no matter how small it takes over 40 min. They need a manager that understands how to work ticket times. When I asked what was taking so long they said the sausage. You could go somewhere and get a well done shoe leather steak and it not take that long. Today was the last day. The food there isn’t that good to where I have to wait in line after I’ve called in an order for 40 min.
Always disappointed when I give this place another chance. Last week I paid over $10 for two sausage egg and cheese biscuits that were sitting under the heat lamp. As soon as we opened the biscuits and took a bite, they completely fell apart and crumbled everywhere. I was pretty much left holding a piece of sausage. For $5 a biscuit, you can do a little better than that. Will not be eating there again.
